At Yellow Brick Road Nursery we educate our children about those who are less fortunate within the UAE and from around the world by supporting the following charities:

Make-A-Wish Foundation - All parents and family members are invited to join us to raise money which is donated to the UAE Make a Wish Foundation.  During the third term the children enthusiastically make and paint special little items during their Nursery lessons and these items are then available for purchasing on our special Make-A-Wish Day.

UAE Make-A-Wish Foundation uses the money for children resident of the UAE to grant their special wishes.  Children eligible for this special wish are children whose life expectancy is not longer than 18 years due to life threatening illnesses such as childhood cancer.

School of St Jude in Tanzania – Yellow Brick Road Nursery sponsors the education of a young girl called Glory Joachim in Arusha Tanzania, as part of the School of St Jude Programme – Fighting Poverty through Education.  This is truly an inspiring charity founded by (Australian) Gemma Sisia.  You can read more about this on the school’s website.  http://www.schoolofstjude.co.tz

Dhaka Project – We have collected everyday items which we in Dubai take for granted in support of a Shoe Box Appeal for the children of the Dhaka Project in Bangladesh.   The Dhaka Project strives to maximise human potential by bringing hope and providing sustainable skills and dignity to better the lives of the children within the Project.

SMILE – Two of our Nursery Directors devoted their summer holiday time to assisting with the care of young orphaned railway and street children in Calcutta, India.

GETH in Ras Al KhaimahThis charity helps to care for babies and small children in prison with their mothers by providing clothing, diapers, formula, cots, sheets, blankets and other necessary items.  When needed, we begin a collection at Yellow Brick Road Nursery for parents to donate these items if they wish.

“The values that we teach our children at this young age will remain with them throughout their lives – the children learn from us – the adults in their lives.  Our good and honest attitudes and opinions are vital contributions for the children’s early learning years.” BK-T

Yellow Brick Road Nursery is extremely family-orientated and we do as much as we can to involve the children’s families – parents, siblings, grandparents and all within the Nursery environment

One special way of bringing families together is during our 'Nursery Picnics', which we celebrate on special occasions; our next Nursery Family Picnic is:

Easter Family Picnic  Tuesday 23rd March 2010
