Foundation Stage

At Yellow Brick Road Nursery School we provide The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a quality framework for the provision of learning, development and care for children between birth and the academic year in which they turn five (0-5).

What does the Early Years Foundation Stage do?

The EYFS ensures:

*children learn through play

*providers work closely with parents

*you are kept up to date on your child's progress

*the welfare, learning and all-round development of children with different backgrounds and levels of ability, including those with special educational needs and disabilities

The preschool classes for the children aged three and four years (foundation stage 1) complete very important preschool learning programs and skills which give the children the understanding and the recognition of phonic sounds, counting and also recognizing numbers, quantities, colours and shapes; plus pre-reading and pre-writing programs such as writing their own names and recognizing the same.
